Welcome to GharTakGuru. These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the GharTakGuruwebsite and services (the “Platform”). By registering for, accessing, or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
1. About the Platform
GharTakGuruis an online marketplace that connects independent home tutors with parents and students seeking tuition. Parents/students post tuition requirements free of charge. Tutors use platform “points” to unlock the contact details of a parent/student requirement. GharTakGuru only facilitates the introduction — we are not a party to any tuition arrangement, fee, or service agreed between a tutor and a parent/student.
2. Eligibility & Accounts
You must be at least 18 years old to create a tutor account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to keep it updated. You are responsible for all activity under your account and for keeping your login credentials confidential.
3. Points, Unlocks & Free Bonus
New tutors receive 500 points free on registration. Unlocking a single parent/student contact costs 500 points. Points are a prepaid virtual credit that can be used only on the Platform to unlock contacts. Points have no monetary value, are not a deposit, cannot be transferred or exchanged for cash, and are non-withdrawable.
4. Tutor & Parent Conduct
You agree to use unlocked contact details only to discuss legitimate tuition opportunities, and never for spam, harassment, marketing of unrelated products, or any unlawful purpose. GharTakGuru does not verify the qualifications, background, or conduct of any tutor or parent and does not guarantee that a requirement is genuine or that a connection will result in an engagement.
5. No Brokerage on Tuition Fees
GharTakGuru charges only for points used to unlock contacts. We do not take any commission, brokerage, or share of the tuition fee you agree directly with the other party. Any fee, schedule, or terms of tuition are settled solely between the tutor and the parent/student.
6. Payments
Point purchases are processed through our third-party payment partner, Razorpay. By making a payment you also agree to Razorpay’s applicable terms. We do not store your full card or banking details on our servers.
7. Prohibited Activities
You may not attempt to circumvent the points system, scrape or bulk-extract contact data, resell unlocked contacts, post false or misleading requirements, or interfere with the Platform’s operation or security. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, without refund of points consumed.
8. Limitation of Liability
The Platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, GharTakGuru is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for the conduct, quality, safety, or outcome of any tuition arrangement made between users. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for points in the 30 days preceding the claim.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, and any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh.
